Pedro Luis Sánchez Torres

Managing director

My name is Pedro Luis Sánchez Torres, and I am the Executive Director of Protocol & Diplomacy Consultancy and a consultant specialising in strategic representation, protocol, corporate diplomacy, institutional communication and public image.

I support leaders, institutions and organisations in contexts where the way they communicate, present themselves, interact and represent themselves shapes perceptions of authority, trust and reputation.

My work is based on a clear premise: when an organisation is in the public eye, its public presence, symbols, message and dialogue cannot be left to chance. They must be guided by sound judgement, method and strategic coherence.

Approach

My approach is based on a holistic understanding of representation: it is not enough to simply prepare a speech, organise an event or manage a public image in isolation. In high-profile contexts, everything conveys a stance, a perspective and authority.

That is why I work by linking protocol, institutional communication, public presence and strategic dialogue. The aim is for every visible decision — from a meeting to a public appearance or an official event — to follow a coherent logic and reinforce the reputation of the person being represented.

It is not about adding formality, but about giving structure to authority.

Institutional, corporate and international experience

My career has unfolded in environments where representation, protocol, communication and public image demanded precision, coordination and institutional judgement.

In the public sector, I have worked at the Directorate-General for Communication and Diplomatic Information at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, taking part in institutional events, drafting protocol notes and reports, monitoring the media, providing support for digital platforms, and coordinating with embassies and consulates. I also served as a protocol officer for the Ministry’s team in Córdoba during the OSCE Conference on Anti-Semitism and Other Forms of Intolerance.

Through Protocol & Diplomacy Consultancy, I have led consultancy, training and strategic support projects for public administrations, companies, international organisations and academic institutions, integrating protocol, communication, planning, documentation, interdepartmental coordination and representation criteria.

Notable projects include work linked to ISDEFE, Spanish local councils and international programmes with the “Dr. José Gustavo Guerrero” Diplomatic Institute in El Salvador, focusing on protocol, image, communication and institutional representation.

Academic background and specialisation

My background combines the humanities, protocol, public relations, communication, event management and digital transformation – a foundation that enables me to approach institutional and corporate representation from a cross-disciplinary perspective: language, context, symbols, reputation, public presence and strategy.

I hold a degree in English Language and Literature from the University of Salamanca, having also studied at the University of Granada and Tampere University in Finland. Subsequently, I have completed specialised training in protocol, state ceremonial, public relations, event management, communication, crisis management and digital transformation.

This academic background underpins an applied approach: understanding the context, structuring the message, interpreting institutional codes and translating them into visible decisions consistent with the position of each leader, institution or organisation.

Key qualifications:

Master’s in Protocol, UNED · Master’s in Public Relations, Event Management, Protocol and Communication, URJC & European Postgraduate Centre · MBA in Digital Transformation, UNADE

Languages

I usually work in Spanish and English, and am able to operate effectively in institutional, corporate and academic settings with an international dimension.

My knowledge of other languages and cultural contexts reinforces my focus on corporate diplomacy, international protocol, intercultural communication and strategic representation.

Languages: native Spanish, bilingual in English, conversational Italian, basic Japanese and basic Finnish.

Let’s talk with judgement

If you need to strengthen your public presence, prepare an institutional presentation, streamline your organisation’s public image, or improve the consistency between your message, image and communication, we can assess the situation during an initial meeting.

The aim is not to apply generic solutions, but to identify what each leader, institution or organisation needs to project in order to act with greater authority, confidence and credibility.
